This a was a full-time inpatient position in a state psychiatric hospital that included the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI), and who were hospitalized in a long term forensic psychiatric unit. The position also entailed writing Temporary Custody Evaluations for Virginia criminal courts (after individuals have been adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity to help decide disposition), writing of conditional release reports, and related (periodic) court testimony for my NGRI-adjudicated patients. October 2010-Dec 2010 (3 days/week in Alexandria, VA) April 2011 - June 2011 (1-2 weeks per month in Virginia Beach, VA) Independent Contractor Psychiatrist QTC Medical Group, Alexandria VA and Virginia Beach, VA This independent contractor position comprised psychiatric evaluations of military veterans (in Alexandria) as well as active-duty military (in Virginia Beach) who had been referred by the VA/Armed Services to evaluate for the presence of PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury and/or other combat/service-related psychiatric disorders, in order to establish eligibility for service-related disability claims, and that required clinical evaluations and compilation of formal reports.
