I have practiced hematology/oncology for 30 years and my experience includes a variety of clinical settings - military hospital (Walter Reed), large, university-affiliated hospital (Hartford Hospital), and university medical center (University of Connecticut Health Center). I served on active duty in the army for 10 years and rose to rank of major. I was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal during that time. At Hartford Hospital, in addition to managing a busy clinical practice, I was medical director of the clinical research program and worked closely with physicians from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as lead physician for the Hematology Disease Management Team. In that capacity, I helped set standards of care for hematologic malignancies, reviewed clinical research trials and spearheaded new initiatives for the Hartford Hospital Cancer Center. I have been involved in medical education throughout my career serving as Site Director and Associate Program Director for UConn's hematology/oncology fellowship program. In recent years my interests have narrowed to the fields of benign and malignant hematologic disorders, but over 30 years of clinical practice I have taken care of patients with all types of malignancies and feel especially well-versed in the treatment of gastrointestinal and prostatic cancers. I am triple board-certified and most recently passed the hematology recertification exam in 2020. I recently relocated to Colorado and plan to continue my practice here.
