Additional Information

I received my PhD in Applied Social Psychology in 2011, and have worked as a professor in the Forensic Psychology program at Ontario Tech University in Ontario, Canada since 2013. My primary area of expertise is in interviewing and interrogations, and I have published 25+ academic articles on this topic along with dozens of presentations at national and international conferences. I am also an executive member of the International Investigative Interviewing Research Group (iIIRG). Along with my research and teaching I provide interview training to law enforcement and investigatory agencies. I have trained hundreds of investigators in evidence-based interviewing techniques over the past decade through my Eastwood Consulting business (eastwoodconsulting.net). I am qualified to speak to interrogation and interviewing practices, including their risk factors for false confessions and how closely they match current best practices.
