Dr. Pisharoty is a board-certified anesthesiologist with subspecialty certification in Pain Medicine. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Rochester Medical School where he teaches medical students, residents, and fellows the art and science of anesthesiology and pain management. He has extensive experience in dealing with injuries of the cervical and lumbar spine. He is well-versed in all interventional pain management procedures and the management of opioids. In his full-time academic practice, Dr. Pisharoty performs procedures including epidural steroid injections, radiofrequency ablation, minimally invasive lumbar decompression, and many more. Dr. Pisharoty has extensive experience with ultrasound guided nerve blocks. He has seen and managed many patients with nerve injury subsequent to injection therapy. Dr. Pisharoty has been a practicing anesthesiologist for decades. His specialties are ambulatory anesthesia and office surgery. He has been a surveyor for the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF) since 2008. He is an expert in safety and standard of care for ambulatory surgery. He has been involved with the certification of numerous ambulatory surgery offices throughout New York State. Dr. Pisharoty has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in accounting and finance from the William E. Simon School of Business Administration at the University Rochester. This unique qualification enables him to analyze financials and make pro forma financial forcasts of medical treatment plans. Dr. Pisharoty’s ability to communicate complex ideas in plain language has made him a sought after speaker both domestically and internationally to a variety of audiences. He has been an invited speaker in Europe and Japan.
