Specializes and has experience in accidents in and around buildings. Mr. Hughes has 40 years of experience designing and inspecting buildings. He has designed over 400 new structures and inspected over 4,000 existing structures. Some of the more significant buildings include an addition to the CIA in Langley, VA and a 28-story Tannen Towers in Wilmington, DE. He was retained to inspect the crash site on 911 in Shanksville, PA. In his company, he has used OSHA code and building codes everyday for over 40 years. Hughes has been deposed over 100 times and has testified over 50 times and has worked in over 20 states. He is a licensed professional engineer in seven states. People retain Mr. Hughes because he does not charge to review assignments and does not ask for retainers. After reviewing a case, he quotes fees up front for cost containment purposes. He is capable of doing this due to over 1,000 litigation assignments in the last 25 years. Past clients include insurance companies, attorneys, contractors, engineers, architects and building owners. In 2006 Hughes authored a book titled Building Design and Construction Hazards and in 2007 a book titled Residential Construction Disputes. For five years he was on the Board of Directors of The Hazard Information Foundation Institute of Sierra Vista, AZ. In 2004 he was named Citizen of the Year in his community.
