Eric Schwelke CPO(E), prosthetist & orthotist with over 40 years experience in the Prosthetic/Orthotic profession including educational residencies. Graduated NYU P&O Program in 1979. Board Certified in 1980. Presently the Director of BIONIC RESOURCES LLC, which provides consulting services to legal firms and their clients related to issues of malpractice and product liability specific to the Prosthetic/Orthotic profession. Began practicing in the private sector and in March 1985, started and grew a successful ABC Accredited prosthetic/orthotic practice (sold the practice in 2008). Had full accountability for daily operations, business development and patient satisfaction. Managed personnel including professionals, technical staff and administrative staff. Coordinated patient care from first evaluation to final device delivery. Expanded to serving seven major teaching hospital centers and many large nursing and rehabilitation facilities. Built a strong referral base with various private physicians and physical therapists throughout the metro NYC area. Developed and successfully negotiated contracts for major New York City Hospitals within the NYC Health and Hospitals Corporation. From December 2010-March/2020, 10 years as Director of Kessler O&P Services, Inc. Provided the comprehensive leadership necessary to produce the most advanced prosthetic/orthotic devices that incorporated the latest technologies, materials, and components for clients, increased profitability in a difficult and changing payer environment. Strong compliance component which included facility accreditation, documentation review, and claims auditing. Mr. Schwelke continues to maintain current knowledge of innovative technology and materials. Proven ability to oversee all aspects of patient care and full scope of business functions.
