Dr. Khoury is a board certified in both Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Pediatrics. He has been in practice as an attending physician since 2012 and covers a Level IV NICU and two level III NICUs in Richmond, Viriginia. Working in the only Level IV NICU and a major referral NICU in central Virginia, he takes care of patients with multiple anomalies including but not limited to: hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy, congenital anomalies, necrotizing enterocolitis, congenital cardiac malformations, extracorporal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and extreme prematurity. As the Medical Director for Transport, he has led training and education for staff and physicians in referring institutions and has launched the flight program for neonatal transports. Dr. Khoury is also the co-chair and neonatology lead for the Virginia Neonatal Perinatal Collaborative (VNPC), the state QI collaborative for Virginia. He works with experts in all medical fields to advance care for women and newborns in the state of Virginia. As the associate fellowship director, he is also very active in teaching residents and fellows, which keeps his medical knowledge up to date. He enjoys working as an expert witness, is easily approachable, and very ethical in his cases.
