Dr. Matthew Bunkers of Northern Plains Weather Services is a certified consulting meteorologist (CCM) and forensic meteorologist with over 27 years of weather analysis and forecasting experience. Recent consulting/expert experience includes (1) work on slips and falls due to snow and freezing drizzle, (2) wind estimation for grain bin damage and wildfires, (3) climate information and reconstruction for construction and mining operations, (4) rainfall and snowfall analyses for insurance claims, (5) radar analyses for hail size and crop insurance, (6) rainfall analyses for automobile accidents, and (7) rainfall return frequency analyses for flooding events. Matt's services include consulting, event reconstruction, site inspections, affidavits, reports, graphic generation, depositions, trial preparation, and court testimony. Recent clients have been from Arizona, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Dakota, Texas, and Wyoming. Matt also has reviewed over 100 papers for professional journals, and was recognized for this service by the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Editor’s Award in 2004 for Weather and Forecasting.
