Dr. Hupka is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience providing psychological assessment and expert witness testimony in both criminal and civil cases. As a clinical psychologist, his areas of specialization are forensic psychology and neuropsychology. He has worked as a Psychologist since 1992, and has been a Licensed Marriage And Family Therapist since 1984. He is licensed to practice psychology the States of California, Colorado, and Washington. Dr. Hupka has evaluated 1000’s of criminal offenders, including incarcerated offenders in the prison system and in community placements. His expertise includes evaluation of mentally disordered criminal offenders, and evaluation of sex offenders. In civil matters, he has provided evaluation and testimony in workers compensation brain injury cases from 2000 to 2017 as a QME. He has conducted evaluations for State disability cases, as well as evaluation and treatment recommendations for impaired professionals. Dr. Hupka brings to his work a background in providing mental health treatment to patients in diverse settings – including in-patient hospital treatment, community outpatient treatment, substance abuse treatment, and in private practice. He has worked as a Staff Psychologist in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, where he conducted psychological evaluations and treatment with inmates in the California prison system. He has also worked as a psychologist at Kaiser Hospital outpatient psychiatry clinic providing individual and family therapy.
