I am an experienced structural (35 years) and forensic engineer (14 years) with expertise in the areas of structural engineering, construction and building systems. Specifically, his forensic experience includes investigations of residential, commercial and industrial building roof systems, building envelope deficiencies which result in water intrusion, failure of floor systems (tile, wood, etc.), foundations, swimming pools, and structural damage due to catastrophic events (storms, vehicle impacts, fire loss, etc.) and associated construction activities (vibrations). My background also includes structural design of concrete, masonry, steel, prestressed concrete and autoclaved aerated concrete block/panelized systems; Graduate work specialized in concrete, prestressed concrete and autoclaved aerated concrete. Field construction experience includes the operation of heavy equipment, installation and inspection of foundation systems, steel, concrete, masonry, precast concrete and autoclaved aerated concrete building systems. I have provided consultation to attorneys, contractors, and insurance adjusters concerning structural and property damage evaluation, failure causation, construction defects, and repairs/remediation of structures that have sustained damage. I have taught a variety of engineering courses to student engineers. Served and supervised in many fields in the Marine Corps and National Guard which included: Construction, Demolitions, Drafting, Surveying, Heavy Equipment operation, SCUBA Diver, and Marksmanship Instructor.
