Mr. Larson began his professional career in 1978 with Roen Salvage Company, Sturgeon Bay, WI as a field engineer on various projects on the Great Lakes. His duties included job surveying, scheduling, cost control, and production records. After four years of work experience, he applied for and received registration as a Professional Engineer. He remains a P.E., currently registered in WI and VA. In 1984 Mr. Larson joined Marine Contracting Corporation, Virginia Beach, VA as Vice President. In this position his work dealt with construction of a wide variety of marine structures. He has completed over 650 specific projects. Examples of completed projects include a design-build coal unloading pier, numerous repairs and upgrades to naval aircraft carrier piers, private shipyard concrete piers up to 1,200 feet long, pile installation at high-security naval facilities, design-build marina facilities, concrete and steel sheet pile walls, mooring facilities for commercial tugs, barges and navy vessels, marine cofferdams, river crossings for pipelines and power cables, offshore navigation aids, offshore installation of steel pipe pile weighing 50 tons, scour protection around bridge foundations at high-risk locations, concrete cylinder pile wavescreens and breakwaters, rip rap shore protection with stone up to 8 tons, and others. Most projects include demolition of existing structures, marine pile driving and marine concrete. Mr. Larson's clients include the U.S. Navy, Army Corps of Engineers, U.S.Coast Guard, power companies, utility companies, state and local governments, private shipyards and others. Mr. Larson's relationship with Marine Contracting Corp. continues on a part time basis. In 2014, he formed Marine Development Corporation. As President, his work primarily deals with site investigation, construction reviews, cost estimating and expert witness on marine related issues.
