Additional Information

Radiology is too large of a field to be an expert in its entirety. 100% of my clinical practice is dedicated to imaging of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. This has allowed me to become a true expert, rather than a jack of all trades. I'm fellowship trained in both Abdominal Imaging and Emergency Radiology, in addition to board-certification by the American Board of Radiology. Examples of cases within my "sandbox" include pulmonary embolism, lung cancer, appendicitis, cholecystitis, diverticulitis, abdominal malignancy such as colon cancer that was missed, bowel obstructions... more or less, anything in the chest, abdomen, or pelvis. With a background in teaching, bring your case to life with trial demonstratives, 3D printing, and image reformats for the lay person; as your expert, I will ensure I can convey the complex imaging to the lay person. With experience testifying in malpractice and criminal cases, I have educated jury on relevant imaging findings with an ability to explain complex disease processes in simple relatable terms to the lay-person. I work in one of the largest academic Emergency Radiology divisions in the US, servicing 15 UPMC-affiliated hospital ER’s across Western Pennsylvania, including 2 level-one, 2 level-two and 6 certified stroke centers and previously served as Associate Chief of my Emergency and Tele-radiology Division. With an academic appointment in the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, I am responsible for teaching the radiologists of tomorrow. Side-by-side, I teach trainees the subtleties of body imaging. In each of the past six years ('18-'23), I was awarded a UPMC Department of Radiology Excellence in Teaching Award, voted on by the residents.
