Dr. Zinkhan is dual board certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and in Pediatrics. She has practiced Neonatology as an attending physician since 2013 in one level IV and four level III NICUs. Working in the only level IV NICU for 5 states, she cares for infants with the entire spectrum of neonatal disease, including multiple congenital anomalies, congenital heart disease, prematurity, and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), and who require extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). Telemedicine is a regular part of her practice as she advises remote physicians about how to optimally prepare for and perform complex neonatal resuscitation and transport. She was an assistant professor of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine at the University of Utah with a thriving research career focused on the life-long impact of intrauterine growth restriction, and now works in private practice in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Zinkhan continues her research at the University of Utah as an Adjunct Assistant Professor while in private practice. She regularly teaches and mentors medical students, pediatric residents, and neonatology fellows.
