I am a clinically active Pediatric Critical Care Physician and Pediatric Pulmonologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. I am board certified in Pediatrics, Pediatric Pulmonology (fellowship at UCSF), and Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (fellowship at UW/Seattle Childrens). A retired Army Colonel, I spent a full career in the Army, and served as the Consultant to the Army Surgeon General. As such, I have significant experience in reviewing numerous cases with malpractice claims, both in the military and now in the civilian world. My multiple board certifications and breadth of experience make me highly qualified to serve as your medical consultant for most pediatric cases. I am a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Washington. I am also a trained epidemiologist with honed analytical skills. Given that I actively teach medical students and pediatric residents, I stay abreast of the current literature in the field, and am intimately knowledgeable with the standards of care in treating pediatric emergencies of all organ systems. My specific areas of expertise include pediatric airway emergencies, pediatric respiratory failure, procedural sedation for children, care of technologically dependent children, pediatric shock, pediatric asthma, pediatric advanced life support, pediatric ventilator management.
