Jennifer Axelson is a master’s prepared social worker who has been in the social services and education industries for over fourteen years. Mrs. Axelson is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Case Manager, Medicare Set-Aside Certified consultant and Certified Life Care Planner. Mrs. Axelson has diverse work experience, including appropriate vs. abnormal child development, guardianship, chronic and catastrophic medical injuries/complexities (traumatic brain injury, amputation, cerebral palsy, physical/medical co-morbidities), the dynamics of aging, cognitive deterioration/dementia, and chronic pain management. Additionally, Mrs. Axelson has experience in school social work, grant management, mental health, substance abuse, and Illinois state child protective arenas. As a supervisor of clinical staff, Mrs. Axelson has taken part in or overseen hundreds of assessments and the implementation of their resulting plans of care. Mrs. Axelson is a current member of the International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals (national and Illinois chapter), Case Management Society of America (national and Chicago chapter), National Alliance of Medicare Set-Aside Professionals, and the Illinois Guardianship Association. Mrs. Axelson participated in the 2017 IARP Summit in Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Axelson has been published, and has presented to a variety of audience members on topics related to her areas of specialty.
