10Additional Information
I have extensive experience in emergency medicine and hospital governance. I have been in full time clinical practice since 2003 and have been board certified continuously throughout my career. I have been Core Faculty in 2 Emergency Medicine Residencies since 2011. In that role I train young physicians how to practice emergency medicine. I have been the ER Medical Director at 2 hospitals since 2011 and currently manage both our Main ER and our 5 Free-Standing ER’s. I’m currently responsible for over 150,000 patient visits a year and for over 100 physicians and advanced practice providers who staff our ERs. Additionally, I’ve held several leadership positions at my hospitals. I’m currently the Chief of Emergency Medicine at Brandon Hospital. At St. Lucie Medical Center I was Chairman of the hospital’s Peer Review Committee for 5 years and I was also elected as Vice Chief of Staff for 2018. And I’m also a lead regional physician coach for Envision Physician Services. Thus, I have ample clinical, administrative, teaching, and coaching experience. The roles listed above have afforded me extensive experience reviewing medical cases. As an ER Medical Director, I am responsible for reviewing all ER complaints and clinical issues. This position also grants me a seat on my hospital’s Medical Executive Committee. I been a part of that Committee since 2011 and in that capacity have been involved in all manner of hospital governance issues. I’ve also been on my hospital’s Peer Review Committee since 2011. On that committee I am involved in the review of all hospital-wide cases that were flagged due to concerns with clinical care or provider professionalism. In my role as a regional physician coach I help physicians in multiple specialties across the USA who are at risk of termination due deficiencies in their practice or problems at their hospital. Also, I’ve also been reviewing cases for both defense and plaintiff attorneys since 2014. However, please note that this work constitutes less than 10% of my income. Furthermore, I have stellar academic credentials, having received my specialty training at the University of Chicago hospitals, one of the top programs in the country. I possess high-level communication skills for deposition, video deposition, and testimony. I am also bilingual in Spanish. In summary • 19 years full time clinical practice • 19 years board certified • 11 years medical director • 11 years as Core Faculty in our emergency medicine residency • 11 years on the hospital’s Medical Executive committee • 11 years on the hospital’s Peer Review committee • 8 years medical expert work, 30+ cases • 5 years as Chairman of that Peer Review committee • 3 years regional physician coach for Envision • 1 year hospital Vice Chief of Staff • Top notch academic credentials and communication skills • Bilingual in Spanish
