Ten of my 22 years as a State Trooper with the Texas Department of Public Safety (TXDPS) were in the License and Weight Service, now called Commercial Vehicle Enforcement. In 1990, I was one of seven Texas State Troopers appointed to be an Associate Staff Member to the USDOT’s Transportation Safety Institute (TSI) in Oklahoma City, OK and subsequently to the National Training Center (NTC) in Washington, DC.
