I am an Emergency Medicine (EM) physician and have been practicing EM full-time for over 15 years. I currently work in freestanding Emergency Departments (EDs) in both urban and rural areas, which are EDs not attached to a hospital. I am board certified with the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and also hold a Fellowship in the Academy of Wilderness Medicine (FAWM) with a specialization on subjects such as hypothermia, frostbite, heat stroke, altitude illness, and animal attacks/envenomations. I am currently a candidate for a Diploma in Dive & Marine Medicine (DiDMM) with a further focus on dive injuries and marine medicine.
I earned my medical degree (MD) at the University of Oklahoma and completed my EM residency at the University of Florida - Jacksonville, a designated level 1 trauma center, which is the highest designation for trauma centers for the sickest trauma patients.
