Upon graduating from West Point, I joined the US Army’s 8th Engineer Battalion, 1st Cavalry Division, and served as a commissioned officer in Desert Storm. My service on active duty lasted four years, including two additional deployments to Kuwait. I resigned my commission and taught high school chemistry, physics and biology for one year while I applied to medical school. I am a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, have a Certificate of Added Qualification in Surgery of the Hand, and am an Active Member in the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. I currently serve as a consultant reviewer for the Journal of Hand Surgery.
