I am a practicing pediatric intensive care physician. I have practiced pediatric intensive care since 1989. I am professor of Pediatrics at Georgetown University School of Medicine. In the past I have held the positions of Chief Medical Officer of St. Christopher Hospital for Children, Director of the Pediatric ICU Director of Pediatric Inpatient Services and Vice Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, and in these roles I have dealt with the Standard of Care for pediatricians and pediatric specialists. I am board certified in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and am a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and College of Critical Care Medicine. I have been serving as expert witness for over 25 years. My areas of expertise are acute, emergency and critical care pediatrics.

My training includes successful completion of a residency in Internal Medicine, a fellowship in Trauma & Surgical Critical Care, and a fellowship in Critical Care Medicine. I am an assistant professor at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, and the Director of Physician Education at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. I am Medical Director of the Lung Rescue Unit (ECMO ICU) and the Biocontainment Unit (COVID 19 ICU) at the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. My current clinical practice focuses on Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Cardiac Surgical Critical Care, and Trauma Critical Care. I also have taken care of general Medical and Surgical Critical Care patients at a variety of community ICU settings and tele-ICU settings.
