I am ABIM board certified in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Metabolism and Nutrition. I completed a BS in Human Nutrition at Michigan State University and MD at Wayne State University. I also have performed non-degree studies in Public Health. I completed specialty training in Internal Medicine at Baltimore City Hospital/Francis Scott Key Medical Center/Johns Hopkins University and a Clinical/Senior Research Fellowship in Endocrinology and Nutrition at the University of Washington. Academic faculty positions have included Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Tulane University, Louisiana State University-New Orleans and Pennington Biomedical Research Center. My research has focused on the effects of nutrients, hormones and estrogen on lipid and bone metabolism.
