I received my Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology from the University of California, Berkeley. Following my doctoral studies, I was a National Institute on Aging Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Michigan Medical School in the Department of Physiology and the Institute of Gerontology.I then joined the faculty at The Ohio State University (OSU) in 1999 and served there until 2017 as an Associate Professor in the Department of Human Sciences, Kinesiology Program. I also held a joint academic appointment in the Department of Physiology and Cell Biology in the College of Medicine. Finally, I was faculty member on the OSU Buckeye Wellness Leadership Team in the College of Nursing.
My research interests are focused on human performance and how skeletal muscle adapts during the aging process. I taught courses in Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology.
