Dr. Getty is a general adult psychiatrist certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He graduated from University of California Irvine School of Medicine and completed his residency training in psychiatry at the University of California Los Angeles-Greater Los Angeles VA psychiatry residency program, where he had the role of inpatient psychiatry chief resident during his last year. He has experience in various forensic settings including performing Compensation and Pension evaluations for veteran claimants at the Los Angeles VA as well as providing psychiatric care to patients at the Los Angeles county Twin Towers Correctional Facility during his training years. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with more than 15 years of experience in the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. I am familiar with the clinical, administrative, and legal aspects of delivering mental healthcare in prison. I have delivered direct services in outpatient, inpatient, and segregated settings and supervised staff in outpatient and inpatient psychiatric programs. Mental healthcare in prison is frequently tied to judicial intervention. I am broadly familiar with the legal basis and remedial phases of such intervention.
