Dr. Schwartz received his medical degree from Yale University. While there he received a national award for his work in Emergency Medicine. He completed residency training in both Psychiatry and Emergency Medicine. At the completion of his Emergency Medicine residency he was granted an award for his research by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
He is currently on the faculty at the Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and an Attending Emergency Physician at a level I trauma center in New York City. He previously functioned as the Psychiatry liaison for the Emergency Department at Elmhurst Hospital Center. Additionally, he maintains an active, solo psychiatric practice. His continued work in both these specialties uniquely positions him to evaluate medical issues at the intersection of psychiatry and emergency medicine.
