Dr. Oppenheimer is an actively-practicing board-certified neurosurgeon with 27 years of experience. He founded and presently practices at Neurosurgery Medical Associates in Coral Springs, Florida. Dr. Oppenheimer is also on the faculty at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, and holds medical licenses in several states. Dr. Oppenheimer received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine, where he also obtained an MS with distinction in Physiology and Biophysics. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Neurobiology and Behavior cum laude, from Cornell University. Dr. Oppenheimer completed his residency training at the University of Southern California-Los Angeles County Hospital. I did my neurosurgical training at the world renowned Medical College of Virginia now called Virginia Commonwealth University. I also completed a one year fellowship in Neurotraumatology. I am a diplomate in good standing of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. My first twenty three years of practice experience was as founder and partner in a robust private neurosurgical practice in metro Atlanta. Since then, I have worked as an employed neurosurgeon at several hospitals around the country. Currently I hold a medical license in the state of North Dakota and will soon hold licenses in Wyoming and Florida. I also hold an IMLCC or Compact License currently recognized in thirty seven states and soon to be more. Throughout my career I have treated thousands of traumatic brain and/or spine cases. My surgical tally is easily in the tens of thousands of cases involving the brain and spine.
