I practice my specialty of retina and vitreous surgery full time treating more than 100 patients per week. I also provide free care through two local free medical clinics. Legal consulting accounts for less than 1% of my income. I currently review approximately 5 cases per year and find merit in about 25%. Criticism, whether given or received, is never agreeable but it remains important. Injured patients have a right to sue and deserve a physician willing to explain their medical facts. Likewise, physicians targeted in lawsuits deserve to have a peer to stand up for them and for the standard of care in ophthalmology. I care about vision and I care about truth.
