Additional Information

I have forty (40) years of experience in Nursing. I started at the bedside on Ortho-Neuro and have progressed through Open Heart, Neurotrauma and surgery, multi system trauma and Critical Care. I have been a supervisor and an administrator in all areas of nursing that I have practiced. I have flown rotor and fixed wing air ambulance doing scene response and interfacility transfer. I have extensive experience as a clinical preceptor and a classroom instructor, for paramedics, nursing students and nurses. I have extensive experience in Emergency Preparedness as well as practical experience in administration and emergency preparedness during COVID. I have taught basic and advanced life support. I also have thorough experience with regulatory compliance, survey readiness (JCAHO, AOA, ACHC) as well as encyclopedic knowledge of the governmental requirements for acute care hospitals. I have developed, implemented and evaluated Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs for rotor, fixed-wing air ambulance and acute care hospitals. I have also developed, implemented and evaluated house wide, department specific and company mandated education programs to meet regulatory and governmental requirements. I have served as an expert witness and subject matter expert for acute care facilities and for fixed-wing air ambulance in legal matters which were specific to those entities. I have always had a fascination with puzzles and connections, review and investigation are a source for me to utilize my intellect and experience in the field of nursing to solve a problem or discover an error that by being identified, need never happen again. I am nationally certified in Critical Care and Flight Nursing. I have practiced in large, metropolitan facilities, teaching facilities and small rural facilities with a distinct lack of resources. I have flown for hospital based and private entities. I have been associate faculty at a junior college and precepted in major teaching facilities. I have also completed a preceptorship in mechanical assist devices for the cardiovascular system. I look forward to the opportunity to use my years of experience and knowledge base in a setting where it will be valued.
