Katrina Petrini, MS, MHA, JD, CRC, has a Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Health Services Administration (HSA) from the University of North Texas and a Juris Doctorate from Purdue University - Concord Law School specializing in Trial Arts and Advocacy. She has embraced her role in the community as a VR Expert and Occupational Health + Public Health Field Epidemiologist and participates in projects that serve public health, occupational health, environmental health and wellbeing. As a continual researcher, and health/rehabilitation forensic data scientist, Ms. Petrini is driven to master the art of ethical data storytelling and believes in letting the data speak for itself. Ms. Petrini enjoys CE/CLE education in VR counseling, health, workers compensation, and law. Having grown up in Silicon Valley testing video games for Atari and Time Warner Ms. Petrini is uniquely qualified to track all digital labor markets, Ai, law, and policy, and it's impact on all US MSAs and international labor markets. She is a California appointed Vocational Return to Work Counselor and is a nationally recognized Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. In March 2022 she obtained a Vocational Rehabilitation Director’s Endorsement from University of North Texas. She began her professional career in the legal field, as a paralegal in a Plaintiff’s only personal injury law firm working with injured and disabled individuals for 12 years. Tasks included researching medical records and insurance claims in order to quantify special damages, wage loss claims and diminished future earning capacity claims in preparation for trial. Building upon her legal experience, starting in 2016 to 2021 she took a position with vocational consulting firm, The Simon Group. She was tasked with research projects, editing, proofreading, synthesizing data and writing comprehensive vocational expert reports used in workers compensation, civil tort based injury cases, medical malpractice cases, long term disability, marital dissolution and spousal/child support case matters. She also performed vocational rehabilitation forensic data analysis and vocational assessment. In early 2021 she founded Labor Logix Inc., an innovative vocational consulting firm in Santa Cruz, California. Ms. Petrini now operates Labor Logix LLC, based in Austin, Texas, and specializes in remote and in person vocational counseling, vocational assessment, vocational rehabilitation expert testimony and vocational consulting nationally. In addition to providing a full range of vocational rehabilitation counseling, vocational psychometric testing and job placement services, Ms. Petrini has worked as a Vocational Expert in the following civil venues: workers' Compensation, Subsequent Injury Fund, Uninsured Employers Fund, long term disability, tort based civil injury cases, medical malpractice, employment discrimination and marital dissolutions. In this regard, she has participated in at least a thousand vocational assessments within the workers' compensation system, where the LeBoeuf case and/or a rebuttal to the formal rating have been postulated. Between LTD cases, tort based/personal injury civil cases, Workers Compensation cases, SIBTF, UEBTF, Social Security and US DOL OWCP cases she has been deemed qualified as a Vocational Rehabilitation Expert and Diminished Future Earning Capacity Expert. She has been a member and an active participant in a variety of advocacy interests and professional organizations, such as the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification, International Association of Rehabilitation Professionals, Amputee Coalition, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), California Applicants Attorneys Association, Consumer Attorneys of California, Diablo Valley Industrial Claims Association, Austin Claims Association, Health Improvement Partnership of Santa Cruz County and Safe Rx., and 2023 CLE Education Chair for North Bay Workers Compensation Association.
