I am a former RN who wanted to learn more and be able to do more for her patients. I subsequently went back to college for my medical education. I did my residency through the Cleveland Clinic Healthcare System. I am dually board certified in Osteopathic Internal Medicine (AOBIM) and Osteopathic Emergency Medicine (AOBEM). I am a Fellow in the American College of Osteopathic Internists (FACOI) and a Fellow in the American College of Emergency Physicians (FACEP). I have extensive experience traveling and I have worked in a variety of locations including many rural and underserved areas as well as in community hospitals and tertiary centers. I have extensive experience with the healthcare system as it relates to doctors, PAs, NPs and nurses - across a wide variety of levels of care in the ED and in the hospital. Mayo Clinic educated and trained, Julie Rogers is a board certified anesthesiologist practicing at a community hospital. She is an expert in obstetric, ENT, pediatric, ambulatory, orthopedic, cardiothoracic, plastic, neurosurgical, vascular, regional and monitored anesthesia care (MAC) anesthesia. Her current anesthesia practice is diverse, including all of these disciplines. She also teaches airway management to medical residents. Her background includes a PhD in science/pharmacology and a MA in ethics. Her PhD work involved studying the mechanisms of drug molecules, which is integral to understanding anesthesiology. Her ethics specialties include informed consent, capacity determination and patient advocacy. She has published several peer reviewed papers as well as developed and taught courses in these areas. Dr. Phillips is an Clinical Associate Professor of emergency medicine practicing in Philadelphia, PA. She achieved her B.S. at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Brain and Cognitive Sciences. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and completed her medical school and Emergency Medicine Residency training at Vanderbilt University. She then went on to complete a fellowship in Wilderness Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) where she spent several months rotating at a high altitude clinic in Nepal and providing disaster relief during the 2015 Nepal earthquake. Since then, she has been practicing full time in a busy Level 1 Trauma center in Center City, Philadelphia. Dr. Phillips also has experience rotating in rural Alaska and South Dakota through the Indian Health Service as well as international experience in Guyana and Nepal.
